Android Marketplace won't work on ICS

I have a Nexus S 4G. I compiled Android 4.0.3 from source. I created an OTA zip, wiped both data and cache with Clockwork 5.0.2.0 and flashed my newly created ICS ROM. I flashed the "gapps-ics-20111125-2.zip" immediately afterwards before rebooting. Everything works perfectly except I can't access the Marketplace. I keep getting a message saying the Marketplace can't connect to the internet. My phone is connected to Sprint's 3G network. I also tried using the Marketplace with my home wifi but it still can't get an internet connection. I am able to access web sites using the stock ICS web browser with both Sprint 3G and wifi. Also I keep getting a message that Google Wallet has crashed over and over again. Does the gapps zip file only work with CyanogenMod or should it work with any AOSP Ice Cream Sandwich build?
